Mojikyo, by the way, was "the Japanese strikes back". For various reasons (discussed later) they disliked Unicode, and made a counter-proposal, a system that at least initially covered more characters (back when Unicode was still at 16 bits), and uses separate codepoints for Japanese and Chineses.
