I sometimes go off on a quest to
elevate the low art of popular
fiction, though it's obvious even
to me how low it really is:

                                        THINKING_THROUGH_THE_UNTHINKABLE
   At it's core, popular
   fiction is about catering
   to personal fears and a
   need to be flattered.
                                      PRAISE_OF_ONES_ENEMIES
   But my contention is
   that fiction is (or at
   least can be) a bedrock
   of belief, a basis for
   action.
