In ideal fluid theory,
a "doublet" is the flow
pattern around a source
and a sink that are
right next to each
other.

You know the the lines of
force around a bar magnet?

Make the magnet shorter,
until the north and south
poles are right next to DOUBLET
each other: that's a
doublet.
