MEGAPOLISOMANCY

                                              June 26, 2006
  There are a bunch
of names for a And I don't like any
constellation of of these names, but
  things I'm can't think of a better
  interested in... one. Sound familiar?

"Urban Planning" It's funny how often
"Public Policy" I end up saying things
    "New Urbanism" like this.

                                            And if it seems
                                            tedious to you,
"Urban Planning"? imagine how I feel.
  Doesn't that beg
  a big question?
  What if cities
  can't really be Other terms:
  "planned"? "Real Estate Development"
                                        "Architecture"
  "Public Policy": vague, "Transportation"
yawn-inducing, and one of "Community Planning"
  the most important features
  of any "public policy" is
  going to be what stays
  "private".

  "New Urbanism"?
  It's not going to
take long for that And it's not like
  to get old. suburbanites don't
                            have something to
                            learn from new
                            urbanites...

The trouble:

This is a constellation of
ideas that definitely
orbit each other, but
a surprising number of
people still do not see ZONED
the gravitational attraction
between them...

Megapolisomancy: the secret power of cities.
