   A Ginsberg comment on "Naked Lunch"
   was that it struck him as a very
   *honest* work: Burroughs had written
   a book about what he actually thinks.    Ginsberg's own "Howl" was
                                            written on the assumption
        Now, as it happens                  that it would just be read
        Burroughs thoughts are              for a few friends.
        not always a very nice              Ferlinghetti suprised him
        place to be...                      by asking for a manuscript
                                            after the "Six Gallery"
        "Naked Lunch" was a                 reading.
        historically significant
        work, a necessary work,
        but also ultimately a
        corrupting work.            His ressurection in
                                    the 80s as Saint
                                    Burroughs was a very
                                    weird occurrence.

                                       E.g. when he did a Nike ad
                                       some people were Shocked.
                                       (Burroughs did something
                                       a bit sleazy?  Oh my god.)
