ambitions seem so ubiquitous
indicate that we're naturally           Since egalitarian societies

                                        why not just give up on the

                                            be that they have a point?

                                               How does one justify
                                               this utopian dreaming
                                               about "democracy" and
                                               "the rule of law" and
                                               so on?
