REAR_VIEW_PIONEER

                                                  April 11, 2007

Paul Graham argues that it
doesn't matter what language
you use on the server side, so
you should use the most
"powerful" one you can find,
and forget about worrying about
it's popularity.

This is completely wrong:

The actual principle is:
if you're working in a completely
new domain without any existing
libraries of code to assist you,
*then* you have a free choice
of implementation language.

Pioneers have no
backwards-compatibility
requirement.

But it's rare for anyone
to *really* be a pioneer...

  we progress by "evolution",
more so than by revolution. It could be I've said
                                       that, before, eh?
