TELL_ME_TRUE

It's entirely possible that the
"show don't tell rule" is misguided.

Particularly in the case of the
Science Fiction story: you've got
a lot of information to impart to
the reader at the outset, so why
not just fucking tell them?
What's the point of playing
guessing games, hinting at this One reason: the author may not
and that without spelling it out? precisely *know* what it is
                                        that they're writing about.

Sketching in a future and letting
the reader fill in the details
may be the best you can do within
                                        your abilities.

                                                     You can't tell 'em
                                                     what you don't know.
