  Hillary Clinton once
  called them:

  "The vast right
   wing conspiracy." (But since then,
                            I think she's done a
                            if-you-can't-beat-em
                            and signed up herself.)

A number of people have been
  coming to the conclusion
  that this wasn't just a
  flight of rhetorical fancy.

  Paul Krugman comments
  it functions like a VAST_RIGHT
  "special-interest lobby".

John Perkins (author of "Confessions of
an Economic Hit-man") talks about the
rulers of large corporations as members
  of an alliance that's effectively
imperial, but he stops short of the
  C-word:

    "This isn't a *conspiracy
    theory*. They don't need to
    *conspire*. They all know what
    serves their best interest."

                                              Eisenhower, once
                                              famously warned
                                              of the "military-
                                              industrial complex".

                                                  (The term has been
                                                  so over-used
                                                  by the left that
                                                  it's easy to
                                                  forget where it
                                                  came from...)
