I often hear a remark like
  "wikipedia is okay on technical
subjects, but you have to watch
  out for the political ones"

     Most technical subjects (though
certainly not all) have no significane
     to the narrow-bore, short-term
     interests of the political flacks.

     What about the commericial subjects?
Wikipedia pages about that are And these people are so widespread
effectively hi-jacked by marketroids. that I think they've already
                                             infilitrated the "independant"
But even so, the fact that moderators that get called in
the marketing scum have to occasionally-- they scratch each
*pretend* to be trying to other's back, and rubberstamp the
        be informative and PR-friendly edits.
        neutral makes product
        descriptions on wikipedia
        more useful than the
        typical hype page.
