Greetings from Oakland

Our hollowdaze celebrations this year were really spread out over it's final months, so instead of our traditional Christmas photos, here's a close-of-the-year set.
Backdoor 1554 7th West Oakland We've been working on wrapping up our stay at our place in West Oakland, getting ready to move to the duplex in North Oakland.
(New address: 1003 Stanford, Ave, Oakland, CA 94608)
Dali in Backyard Not that there aren't many things to appreciate about the old place...

Living in the style we've become accustomed to... (So, I'm standing on the kitchen table again, so what?)

Raven Cavorting-- --at the world's most scenic VA Hospital, where we were about to run off to Mile Rock Beach.

Event of the Season: Cat Town Cafe Is Open We've been making the rounds in Oakland, here at the opening of the new Cat Town Cafe, with attached cat-petting/adoption lounge (reservations only).
Crazy Cat Lady
The Figment Festival Oakland And another fine event, a gathering of old-fashioned bay area freaks at a park in Oakland.

There's also some pics of a group of friends of ours, who perform Leonard Cohen songs under the name: A Conspiracy of Beards
Bikes Parked at Oakland Harbor Once nice thing about our West Oakland locale is it's only a short bike ride from the harbor.
Our Playground: Oakland, Bay Bridge and SF ... including Middle Harbor Shoreline Park, a place few seem to know about.
Port of SF From the Port of Oakland
Chinatown Blackout Grant Street We had some much needed rain of late, with storm warnings bad enough for me to take the day off of work. They weren't quite bad enough to keep me from taking a look at the scene in SF, where there was a blackout in Chinatown and Union Square.
Cafe Grecco in Northbeach Northbeach still had power, though.
Christmas Comes to the Bridge Cafe in Japantown No holiday season (or any other) would be complete for us without a trip to Japantown.
The Cliffhouse at the "Land's End" of San Francisco ...which has evidently become the ass end of San Francisco.

Riding the Oakland Hill Neighborhoods: Two Bench Park In the final weeks of the year, we did a bike ride up into the Oakland hill neighborhoods, and discovered this micro-park (two benches, including the one where the camera is).
Xmas Tree Theft We supplied our old place with a Christmas Tree by the simple expedient of grinching one over from Shella's the moment she left town for Italy.

Xmas Eve Outfit Raven wanted me to take a photo of my Chistmas Eve outfit: a green monster with red skulls.

She also wanted me to keep my red underwear out of the picture.

Shooting Star Cafe On Christmas Day, we once again ran off to a weird asian-hipster place, this time the Shooting Star in Oakland.
Where Stanford meets Los Angeles This is Shella's side of our duplex, from back before she finished moving in. We're in the process of moving in on our side, and more photos will no doubt follow.
On My Way to Work in Sunnyvale (need faster elephants) In the meantime, I'm continuing with my daily grind, doing a long haul commute to a Silicon Valley job...
Raven Reading Indonesian And Raven continues with her work, plus side projects, such as sleep-learning Indonesian.
