I just want to suggest setting the computer's clock back 28 years, rather than
10. That puts everything in sync such as day-of-the-week and leap year. You
could do it today and if works, 1971 will roll over to 1972 without difficulty.

BTW, just because the OS is non-compliant doesn't mean it won't work. Possibly
the worst that happens is you get funny-looking dates on printouts.
