While I agree with Rick & ESR that a Courier is a damn fine modem, I'll put my MultiTech up against a 3Com/USR any day. I'm going by memory, here, and it's possible that it was true at one time but not at others, but my recollection is that Multitechs choke on noisy 'phone lines (and similar problem conditions). ===
