You're looking to take credit card numbers (and checking account numbers?) and get money from them? Or just to verify that they are valid? Either way, there are a variety of options. The last one I worked closely with was Cybersource; they provide interfaces via the web (using XML, SOAP, and key-value pairs) and have pre-build APIs. I used the Java one under Linux and was quite happy with it. The last one I worked > closely with was Cybersource; they provide interfaces via the web (using i'll second this recommendation. i've been working with Cybersource for about a year now, and it's quite functional and usable. also, since they partner with GlobalCollect, they support a very large number of currencies, as well as other payment methods such as bank transfer. one caveat: check your uptime req'ts with them. they've had a few outages recently, and they're switching to a new IP block soon, which might cause more. ===
