The design goal of the cube was an easy to use, web configurable
SOHO appliance, and in my experience they have worked great.

As someone who has used a Qube, here's what you do:

0) Plug it in. :)
1) Enter the IP address on the back panel.
2) Using a web browser, connect to its IP address.
3) ALL other configuration is done using the web administration tools.

Yes, someone with moderate computer literacy can take the reins and manage
it. Truly a marvelous gizmo. And cute too!

As it happens, I was sitting next to John Blair last night
at the BALUG meeting. He's the guy who did most of the UI
programming for the Qube (largely in Perl/TK, I believe).

He was visiting from the Bay Area because he's thinking
about moving out here soon, and he's actually one of the few
people around looking for work, rather than hiring...

(Easter Egg hint: Try creating an account for a user named
"Ethan Blair".)

I can get him a job offer doing something similar for big bucks.

We need him. Please give him my email address.

Seriously, I'm going into a new group for Be (as in BeOS) as a Server
Solution Engineer. I need that. I was going to use php3 (not that
different), but I could really use his expertise.
