Subject: RedHat Domestic From: "H. Peter Anvin" <hpa@transmeta.com> Date: Mon, 25 Oct 1999 09:26:14 -0700 Since RedHat now has a "domestic" (crypto-enabled) version, it would make sense to add a few packages: Some cryptographic library Some cryptographic Perl modules openssl apache-mod_ssl lsh (freeware ssh) God willing, this version won't have to remain "domestic" for very much longer... === Subject: Re: RedHat Domestic From: "H. It is apparently also legal if you have any secure web server license to use any other one. Note also that the RSA patent expires in less than a year. (Oh yes, the kerneli.org patches should have been on this list, too.) === Subject: Re: RedHat Domestic From: Alan Cox <alan@lxorguk.ukuu.org.uk> Date: Mon, 25 Oct 1999 18:20:47 +0100 (BST) > We can put up cryptographic packages on ftp.redhat.de (no export > restrictions here, and also no valid RSA patents). You probably can't. The US govt has this wonderful view that US citizens and companies doing anything like funding encryption work outside the USA are at least accessories to something. ftp.replay.com btw is the killer archive for crypto stuff, especially RPMs ===
