Subject: Mandrake From: Mange <mwidman@senet.abb.se> Date: Tue, 16 Nov 1999 16:53:21 +0100 Hi I recently installed mandrake 6.1 on my computer. And I think its great.. much more faster than RedHat Since all packages in mandrake are compiled with pgcc for i586 architecture and optimized for Pentium processors. RedHats packages are compiled for i386.. too bad. You can really feel the difference when running an X-server in mandrake compared to RedHat, Way faster... just wanted to let ya all know that mandrake rules :) === Subject: Re: Mandrake From: "Hugo" <Hugo@www.nashville-now.com> Date: Tue, 16 Nov 1999 10:20:58 -0600 How do you keep Mandrake 6.1 up-to-date? Presumably the regular RH 6.1 updates would work but it would be a bit silly, as the RH 6.1 RPMs are all i386 rather than i586... ===
