Yes, but there's a fix for this, too: You can just delete the null plug-in
(which is what pesters you to install new plug-ins). 

This worked for me under linux:

  su
  mkdir /usr/local/mozilla/plugins-unplugged
  mv /usr/local/mozilla/plugins/libnullplugin.so /usr/local/mozilla/plugins-unplugged/libnullplugin.so

You've got to re-do this every time you upgrade your mozilla though.
