It does not know "collections" (like infoseek), but is small enough to use multiple copies (say, 1 for website 1 and 2 for website 2). It will do the things you mention easily, and is open-source and free. : "n. ahern" <n.ahern@motorola.com> wrote in message : news:393eb34f$1_1@huge.aa.net... : : a nice, configurable search engine, pref. written : : in perl. my site is behind a corp. firewall. i'd : : like to be able to configure it to limit the search : : to ONLY my site (a sub-site within a larger site) : : AND be able to exclude certain filetypes and directories. : : : : i tried ht/Dig, which looks nice, but i'm experiencing : : problems with it and i'm not very familiar with C++. : : : : anyone know of any perl scripts that do what ht/Dig : : does? : : Check out http://cgi-resources.com/ : -- Leonard Coop Dept IPPC & Entomology -- PLEASE NOTE: comp.infosystems.www.authoring.cgi is a SELF-MODERATED newsgroup. aa.net and boutell.com are NOT the originators of the articles and are NOT responsible for their content.
