To: redhat-list@redhat.com From: David HM Spector <spector@zeitgeist.com> Subject: RH7.2 on ISP2150 -- installation fails Date: Wed, 07 Nov 2001 15:24:29 -0500 Hiya, Has ANYONE gotten RH7.2 to install on the supposedly (according to the RedHat HCL) "RedHat Ready" Intel ISP2150? I've tried on several different ISP2150s and each time the install failed (wanted to make sure it wasn't a boot firmweare issue). RH7.0 (which I originally installed on the machines) worked perfectly but RH7.1 exhibited the same behavior as 7.2. The installer dies when it installs the aic7xxx module and gets into a death spiral of probes and scsi bus resets no matter what is on the bus. I cannot believe that there aren't people screaming from rooftops about this since the Intel 440GX series of motherboards is so common. I've sumbitted bug-reports, trouble tickets etc. scanned all of the email lists and archives and haven't seen a single response from any RedHat folks about either a fix or even an admission that there's a problem. Is RedHat planning to fix this problem (that has been around since RH7.1) or should I be looking for another distribution..? As a long-time RedHat booster, I am really, really bummed out... ===
