Actually, I believe it does.

Since you're addressing the ATAPI drives via SCSI emulation, I vaguely
recall that you cannot have the standard ATAPI CD-ROM driver in your
kernel, also.  You'll have to compile a new kernel, leave out all ATAPI
drivers, and address your ATAPI devices by their /dev/scd? and /dev/sg?
equivalents.

Worth a shot, anyhow.
