Colin should be ok, CIM are one of the most Linux friendly sound vendors. They provide documentation on the 8330 (which is supported) and the new PCI cards they even wrote the driver for them. The 8330 is a combination soundblaster clone and WSS clone. In the kernel sources Documentation/sound/CMI8330 covers setup by hand ===
