ADDRESS_THE_PROBLEM

                                             January 7, 2013

This feels like a vain hope, but
I'd like to propose a general
principle for evaluating public
policy:

If a solution is posed to a problem
posed by dramatic events, the solution Like, you know, if there's
should actually address those events. an attack on the United
                                               States, any retaliation
                                               should target the people
                                               who made the attack.

For example, if you want to limit
clip-size because of Newtown, your (Myself, I have
proposed limit is less than the clips no idea. Do you?)
used at Newtown.

Of if you propose requirements for citizen's
safety classes, you should have in mind a
mistake made by the mother of the shooter (I have not idea
                                                if there were any.
                                                Do you?)

                                                     It sounds
                                                     like there
                                                     were.

        The counter-argument would be that--
by my own admission-- the dramatic
story isn't the whole story, and
perhaps not even the real story,
and better then staying on script
would be to consider it as an
example of a class of larger problems...

            But that process of expansion
            is repeatedly cyncially abused
            by people with a pre-existing
            agenda they want to push:
            "never waste an emergency".
