The sentiment of "damn,
I just missed the golden
era!" is pretty common.            IN_THE_NEWS

In the late 80s/early 90s, there
was a truly amazing New York Times
OpEd piece called "Living in the
Shadow of AIDS".

With that kind of title, you'd
think it would be about living
with an HIV positive diagnosis,
never knowing if it might
suddenly flare up into AIDS...

Acutally, it was written by
a young woman who was essentially
whining about how terrible it
was that she couldn't just sleep
around at random like they
did back in the seventies.

  She was stuck with
  only one boy friend.     Either that or
                           she'd have to learn
    Plunged into           to use condoms.
    darkness.
