KICKING_SAND

                             SPOILERS
Sandman #52 in particular
reminded me of the Amber This was one of the "World's End"
business: stories... it focused on Cluracan
                                 the elf, brother of Nuala.
riding on horseback on a
trail through alternate
universes; WORLDS_END

The long lived trickster, dimly
remembered as a historical figure (whose character might
by the culture he's messing with... be compared to
                                        Zelazny's Random) (And in turn,
                                                                to Farmer's
                                                                 Kickaha.)

Being imprisoned and MAKER
freed by a powerful
external agency.

        Then there's the business
        about sword fighting, but
        that's pretty standard
genre fantasy crap. I personally would like to
                                      see this flushed, by the
                                      way...

                                      Chasing after an idealized
                                      past that never was is
                                      really pathetic.

                                             The biggest disappointment for
me about _Game of You_ was that
it took the genre fantasy stuff
                                             so seriously.

                                             When he first introduced
                                             it in _The Doll's House_
I thought it was a great
                                             put-down: "yeah an
                                             airhead that calls
                                             herself Barbie WOULD
                                             dream that kind of D&D
                                             fairy tale stuff"

One thing I liked about #52
was Cluracan's flash of
guilty annoyance at the end
when asked if he was going
to visit his sister.

When I read #52 I happened to
be stalling about writing a
letter to my own sister...
