                                     respects a reversal of

   both are always at war,
   or at least in tension.           Like Mycroft, Nero Wolfe is
                                     sedentary, he requires an
                                     active Watson as a leg-man.
                                        
                                     Unlike Holmes, Wolfe has none of 
                                     the British genteel afectation of    
                                     disdain for money-- Wolfe insists    
                                     on being paid, save for very     
                                     exceptional circumstances.       
                                                               
                                     "I like money. I need a lot of it
                                      to live as I deem fit."
