A problem you might
expect is: isn't
determing whether a Don't you have to
society "works" just resolve questions
a subjective matter? like "what is the Oddly enough, this
good?" isn't really that
much of a
GOOD difficulty.
The measurement of how
you tell when a society
is functional isn't
controversial: average
lifespan, infant
mortality, cost of
living... no one
seriously disagrees
that these are important.
Though there are other things
that people general regard as
Good Things that can be a
little harder to measure, like
say, "freedom", "happiness",
"greatness"...
That typically doesn't
muddy the waters too Though
much.... hypothetically
it might
at matter
a lot.
