SEXUALENGINEERING
Thesis: technical objections to
promiscuous sex are *always*
solvable, for anyone seriously
interested in solutions.
So if our weekends don't
resemble a porn movie shoot,
there have to be other reasons
for it.
Here's a few scenarios.
barriers:
No unprotected sex, no fluid exchange.
Everyone uses condoms, including for
fellatio, cunnilinguis, analinguis. Kissing, too?
You might imagine some sort of
body condoms, tight latex outfits
that have a certain fetish
appeal, and both transfer enough
sensation and provide enough
protection to dive into an orgy
with near abandon.
There are indeed technical problems
with reliability with this sort of
garment (not to mention with working
out a convienient way to get in and out analogy to problems
of them). My claim would be that these with wafer scale
can be solved by some combination of integration, and so on.
(a) clever materials selection
(b) fashion design (smaller garment, A chain is only as
ala bike shorts?) strong as it's
(c) a simple increase in thickness. weakest link.
So on average, it
If it gets too thick to transmit ordinary pays to have
sensation, then we're in to a slightly fewer links, less
different scenario where people might potential sites
need to use additional tools to be felt through for defects.
the barriers, e.g. they all do each other
with vibrators.
(d) technical gimmicks, e.g. a shrink-to-fit rubber
(put it on, apply hair dryer to tighten it up). There was a friend
of mine who had
an idea for
shrink fit
tube tops...
handson:
Parties where people take
take turns, one person lies
down on a central bed/table
everyone else surrounds them
and uses their hands and only
their hands, for a massive
mutual masturbation/erotic massage
session.
Add to this scenario:
Thin disposible rubber/plastic
gloves and a compatible lube
It can be made rigorously heterosexual
if so desired. Split the group into
a female team and a male team, one team
stays on the bench with only one of their
members in play.
screening:
No one allowed in the door without
showing a recent physical certificate
showing that they tested clean.
Slight variation: have medical staff on
premises, who test everyone as they enter.
Someone tried this
scenario in the late
80s/early 90s.
It met with loud resistance:
(1) the AIDS test is not perfect,
false negatives are possible; And yet, if the test is any
good at all, wouldn't you
improve your odds tremendously
by sticking to people who test
negative?
(Insisting on perfection
is always insane...)
(2) AIDS has a long incubation
period, one can be infected But if you don't yet
long before you test positive; test positive, I'd guess
you're also not yet very
contagious.
Perhaps the
loud resistance was
inspired by more than
health concerns.
voyuerism:
bonded couples get together and watch
each other have sex.
alternately, singletons get together
and watch each other masturbate.
Or some combination of the two.
In the near future:
teledildonics/VR scenarios.
I wouldn't doubt that some of the above scenarios
are actually played out, in subculture, in small
private parties (I know of some parties like
this).
Doesn't it seem just a little peculiar that
none of them have taken over and become really
popular (at least as popular, as say, raves?
Or for that matter, football games?)
I could make a further claim:
Technical fixes can also overcome most
social restrictions against indulging
in the above scenarios.
This is getting a bit beyond the scope,
but the point would be if the problem
is
(1) But what if my mom/boss/friends
find out about this?
(2) What if one of the other people in the
game become attached to me
Some sort of identity concealing masquerade
scenario would seem to cover these problems.
Possibly with the addition of
of travel & urban anonymity?
Though there is the classic problem
with the the young woman abroad.
The young american in Europe, who
suddenly thinks "No one here knows
me, I can do what I like and it
will never affect my reputation."
Then she goes home and tells her
best friend about it and everyone
knows within a week.
The maintenance of a perfect
veil of secrecy is never a
good bet.
On the other hand,
preserving deniability
is a more reasonable
goal.
Often, what everyone knows is less
important than what everyone is
forced to admit that they know.

An anonymous sex scenario:
People enter the building and are quickly
isolated into booths where they fill out
a form about their sexual preferences.
They wait to be quietly led off to (Nov 13, 2008)
a dimly lit room where they can do what
they like with one of the other participants. Actually, if secrecy
is *really* important,
you have to worry
about trusting the
organizers...
