Reviewing the Scarlett Johansson as          WHITEGHOST
Major Motoko scandalette...

  is ... 'kind of unavoidably Japanese'."               [ref]

     But whether she unavoidably *looks*
     (stereotypical) Japanese is the question.




 In a comment, a "bleshany" remarks:   [ref]

    "There’s scenes where Motoko is meeting with
    Americans and they’re dicks to her because
    she’s A) a woman and B) Japanese wtf Hollywood"

Um... the way I remember it is the Americans are
dicks because they're Americans.  It's not like
they call her a "nip" or something, do they?

                                                 
     I get the feeling the people making the case     
     on this one don't hesitate to just, shall we          GHOST_REACH
     say, fabricate support for their position.       
                                                      
     That's actually one of the most                 
     interesting things about this dispute.
     None of these people are "hired shills".
     they're not arguing for a political
     candidate, we're not talking about some
     deep religious belief...  and yet, the
     same symptoms of dysfunction recur even
     on these relatively minor grounds.
