So far, I can't figure out what caused this ... anyone see something
similar to this? This table used to have *thousands* of tuples in it, and
now nadda:

This almost identical thing happened to me with one of my tables. Was
never able to track it down. I had about 1500 tuples in the relation
'calendar' -- and about three-quarters of them disappeared between
8:30PM and 1:00AM (when I do my automatic backups). No trace, no log,
no OS error, no nothing. I figured it was crackers, so I tightened the
screws down on some permissions, and it hasn't happened since. This
incident (which happened a month or so ago) is what has prompted me to
try to get better logging in the RPM dist.
I was blocking connections to port 5432 both in pg_hba.conf and at my
firewall. The user postgres cannot be directly logged in to from
anywhere. The web interface not only logs all deletions to 'calendar',
but e-mails me a notification when it is used to delete a 'calendar'
item. No e-mails were received. No telnet connections are allowed to
this machine.
I have not had the same problem again, nor with any other relation.
