 A summary of the
state of Burning Man "Burning Man criticism" is
criticism: a pretty dull field, overall...
                                   the complaints are the same
every year and never seem to
                                   go anywhere.

Burning Man used to be But that in itself
a truly anarchistic isn't any kind of
event, but now it has counter-argument.
   so many rules there's
   no more freedom there. ARGUMENT_FROM_BOREDOM

Buring Man is so The "Burning Man" culture
publicized and above has many such dubious
   ground it can't possibly defenses.
be cool any more. Even my
   uncle goes there. SHIELDS_UP

   Burning Man is a distraction
   from more local activity,
   in particular local art.

Burning Man is a collection of
   "lotus eaters", checking-out
   of reality, ignoring the
   important work that needs to
   be done.

   Burning Man's public statements
   about their purpose are mere
   propaganda. It's a scam:
   they're raking in millions at
the gate, but the real work is
all done on a volunteer basis.

   Burning Man *claims* to be
   non-commercial, but they grant
   exceptions to themselves,
   selling ice and running a
   coffee house in Center Camp.

   Burning Man is an expensive,
   privileged event; it's too
   exclusive.
