Every so often I think about
   trying to promote cycling- EXCEPTION
   oriented figures of speech CORRECT
to replace some of the ubiquitous
car-oriented ones: I have problem with
                                                     the ambiguous ones.
       "Stand on the peddles"
                                                     "Where's the roadmap
"Shift into granny gear" for this project?"

                                                      Bikes as well as cars
                                                      are more useful with
"I think your chain roadmaps, but you *know*
is slipping" the speaker is thinking
                                                      about cars.
               "I think you're peddling
in the wrong gear" "Well, if we dig deep
                                                         into our Zoe bags,
                                                         maybe we can find one."
