   The mystery: the limited
   intellect that achieves a                             THE_CASE_OF_HOLMES
   moment of greatness.

   Maybe it isn't such a mystery, really.
   I think the solution lies in the fact
   that progress is evolutionary.


      Many minds attack a problem,
      many try many different things.              WIDE_FIELD

      The case we see is the success.
      The losers quickly become lost in the mist.


           What kind of mind is capable of
           achieving a "success"?  What
           kind is receptive to the muses?

           "Intelligence" is not
           necessarily the key.

           Being smart doesn't always
           hurt, but sometimes it does --
           the too-smart doubts the
           voices of the muse, can't
           distinguish between the
           promise that's worth following        When you have too
           from the trivial variation            many ideas already,
