SILLIMAN

Looking through some of Delany's
"Longer Views" (a non-fiction DELANY
work of decades ago), I decided
on impulse to try to follow up on
one of the authors he was talking
about:

     Ron Silliman

The local library system has a
number of his works, frequently on
hold... but nevertheless I end up
with a copy of "Under Albany" in my PROBLEM_OF_THE_LINE
hands, and I note with amusement but
no suprise that Siliman is a man LIFETIME_LEFT
  much like Delany.

This book is a work of autobiography, expanding
on each line of the poem Albany, and the voice
seems very much like Delany's voice, and the
kinds of things he talks about -- communal life
in the 60s, San Francisco edition -- is much
like the kinds of things Delany talks about.

This is not a complaint: Delany is
an an interesting fellow, who has
put a lot of work into being what he And I suppose you could say
is, and there's no reason he I'm also always looking for
shouldn't appreciate someone else someone like myself-- or maybe
who is much like he is in many ways. someone who's even better at
being like me than I am.
