    The question often arises --
    increasingly, it seems, in the last decade:

    Is this guy really this stupid?
    Or is he completely evil, and just
    pretending to be stupid?  Or maybe      Can you make a plot of
    he's just really crazy?                 the points where
                                            different speakers
                                            reside in the triangle?


        Whenever I start out estimating
        where someone resides in the
        stupid-evil-crazy triangle, the
        triangle seems to shrink the
        longer I stare at it...

            How can you be that stupid
            without being willfully
            stupid, and hence
            responsible for it?

            Does it really make any kind
            of practical sense to be as
            evil as that?  Why would any
            sane person feel the need to
            employ that strategy?

        Distinguishing between the
        corners becomes pointless.
