Some bits and pieces revolving around the Gaza genocide
and the 2024 US presidential election.

At the electoral-vote.com site, a reader commented with the
poll result widely known on the left, but edited out of the
consciousness of the "mainstream": the majority of Americans
wanted the flow of weapons to Gaza to stop.
Later they ran a letter from someone describing their experiences
knocking on doors in Pennsylvania. They were proud of themselves
for their ability to answer on the Gaza question because of
information they'd learned from the electoral-vote.com site:
Kamala Harris couldn't speak out against the Gaza genocide
before the election because it would be political suicide,
but after she was elected she was going to do something to
stop it.
Now, it's simply not true that the electoral-vote team ever
would have said anything like that-- they have some issues
but they're not going to pretend they can read Kamala Harris's
mind.
Quite a few Democrats seem to have had a fantasy Kamala Harris
in their heads, a Kamala that was itching to do the Right Thing
on Gaza, but had to hold up until election season was over,
then we'd see super-Kamala step out of the phone booth and
save the Palestinians.
This is strikingly similar to the case of
Trump voters who all seem to think they can
tell the difference between the things Trump
is serious about and the things he's just
saying to be outrageous.
