There was a phenomena in the 80s,
which I liked to think was a trend:
the movie that celebrated intelligence...
Everyone thinks of "Revenge of the Nerds"
when I mention this, and that's certainly
one of them, but not the best of the bunch.
My personal favorite is "Real Genius",

strikingly reminscent of CalTech. but weren't allowed, so they

Another good example, though
beyond "exaggerated" and well Buckaroo Bazai was clearly

"Buckaroo Banzai", and his to call this movie a
team of scientist/musician/ "cyberpunk Doc Savage");
adventurers. but it's got other predecessors
as well, such as the James
Coburn Jr. character "Flint".

These had been no recent analogs
though, which was why I welcomed
this "trend" in an era that seemed
to lionize rambozos.
