There's an H.G. Wells quote I've lost track
of (not something that happens often to me,
as you may have noticed) that goes something
like "he was the kind of strong man that
brings down governments".

I don't remember who the quote was about...
it wasn't someone as obvious as Napoleon--
unfortunately the syndrome is easily
recognizeable (and Wells was writing in the
early 20s, before WWII multipled the examples.)



   A New York cabdriver once said something
   to me like "Well, Guiliani's a butt-head,         (It is *not* polite
   but sometimes it takes a butt-head to             to compare one's

       That's a belief that seems
       to persist in spite of all
       evidence...
