   What I'm interested in at the moment
   is the later stages... The trend
   gets so stale, the scene so
   over-exposed, then everyone knows
   that no one who is anyone is still
   into *that*, and the trendoids move       SERIAL_HIPSTER
   on to the next trend; and then you're
   left with the die-hards, and a scene
   that's so overground it's become
   underground again.

        Hidden in plain sight.

                    PURLOINED


   The final stage is for people who
   regard the entire cycle as suspect,
   who don't particularly care if someone
   laughs at them for being
   "stereotypical", who perhaps deny the
   right of the mainstream to categorize
   them.  They're the people who like to
   think that they think for themselves.
