   Coming into the problematic
   "Macross Seven" anime series in
   the middle was confusing:
                                              MACROSS_PLUS
     Okay, A large domed-city     
     interstellar space             CITIES_IN_FLIGHT
     ship. Okay, they're under    
     attack by some sort of              
     psychic vampires.  So, why          
     do they keep bugging us with    
     this silly sub-plot about    
     these inane pop singers?"    
                              
     Oh, the pop singers are also
     combat pilots?  And they fight
     the vampires by *singing*
     *bad* *pop* *songs* at them...

   Um.

      Many, many things about this
      make one cringe -- and we
      haven't even mentioned the
      incessant, up-beat
      sliding-guitar harmonica
      schlock rock yet --

      There are many               PLEASED_TO_MEET_YOU
      barriers here to
      push through...
