Every form of genre fiction, by definition,
relies heavily on recycling different standard
elements.

   It may be my imagination--
   but I suspect that the anime/manga/jpop
   world takes this much farther than                OTAKU_BASE
   anything else I've encountered.


   But it is, after all, one of the things
   that's interesting about finding your way
   around a new genre: all of the standard
   furniture seems new to you.

   So a re-used element from one
   instance really stands out the next
   time you encounter it, because it
   was so remarkable the first. time.
