WALKING_BACKWARDS

   This is one of my standard
   self-deprecating comments
   about myself: "I always seem                         FRUITS_BASKET
   to be walking backwards

      I don't seem to have talked              THE_VOICE_OF_DOOM
      about it here explicitly...              FIFTY_MINUS

        What I usually mean: I come                       DANGER
        at things in odd directions,
        missing the obvious
        beginnings and tracing a line
        backwards to them.



            For me this has overtones and
            associations with many things...

            Richard Hell pointed out that           (And a woman who knew him
            the ancient Greeks spoke of             too well accused him of
            walking backwards into the future.      wishing his future was
                                                    behind him.)




                                          I might even contrive
                                          a connection to the
                                          thermodynamic arrow of time...
