  A few words about
  "fashion" and "style"
  and related concepts.

  This is all aparently shallow
  and trivial, the sort of thing
  that's beneath the contempt          Is there any greater
  of serious thinkers.                 insult than
                                       "fashionable ideas"?
    One is allowed, even
    expected, to be constantly
    at work on The New, but                NOVELTY_AGAIN
    it is evidently supposed
    to be the new *but enduring*,
    the change that will become
    permanent afterwards, and        To work on something with the
    thereafter stand *the test       expectation that it will be
    of time*.                        ephemeral, that it will live
                                     for a time, and then be replaced
                                     by something else... what a
                                     waste.  What point is there
                                     in living if you can not aspire
                                     to be one of the eternals?

         Allow me to point a finger
         in the opposite direction,
         and suggest that the complex
         of ideas and behaviors                               HEROIC_ART
         associated with "fashion"
         has it's own virtues.

         a thing in itself, a reason,
         a way to live...                   LIFE
