The web site "The Sankaku
Complex" serves up news and Is that supposed to
(soft-core) imagery along the sound like "Standalone
general lines of what I call Complex"?
"otaku fodder", justifying it's
name ("sankaku"=="triangle" in
japanese) with a triangular

They assert that this "complex" is
tighter in Japan, justifying it's
treatment as a single entity:
They point out that successful
translations between media is SOUND_AGAINST_VISION
more common in Japan.
They also claim that what
unifies them all is a visual That's probably true, except
style dervived from manga... I would guess it's not the
only center of the triangle.
Which raises the question
of why you would use a
triangle with manga off to
one side as the emblem.
A hierarchy with manga as parent And the term monomedia
would seem closer to the mark. doesn't actually describe
manga: a mix of images
and words.
And yes, in this
case they're
sequential images.
